Creative Pultrusions, Inc. Celebrates 30th Anniversary

Alum Bank, Pennsylvania (January 10, 2003) – Creative Pultrusions, Inc. was founded in December 1972 by Robert D. Sweet, Jr., in Bedford , Pennsylvania to develop a prototype component for General Motors.  With seven employees and an “original” pultrusion system, Mr. Sweet successfully completed the prototype in 1973 and generated $250,000 of revenue in its first year.

The company steadily grew as a result of product diversification, serving the defense, aerospace, transportation, construction, electrical and consumer industries.  After reaching $1 million in Annual Sales in 1979, the company located to a larger facility.

Creative Pultrusions, Inc. expanded again in 1988 when it opened its second facility in Roswell , New Mexico , and in 1992 when it enlarged its Alum Bank facility to over 100,000 square feet.    In 1994, the European Sales Office was established.  Three years later, the office was expanded to a formal division:  Creative Pultrusions International Ltd. 

In 1997, the Corporation acquired Pultrusion Dynamics, Oakwood Village , OH as its Technology Center , providing major benefits of applied science to the pultrusion industry. 

Today, the Corporation’s annual sales exceed $30 million.

Four out of the seven employees who were here since the beginning remain at Creative: Alan Noel , Regional Sales Manager; Bill Harclerode , Master Scheduler; Dave Evans , Western Manufacturing Operations Manager ( Roswell , NM ) and Gary Fix , Receiver.

President/CEO Robert D. Sweet, Jr. states, “We’ve had our ups and downs during our 30 years, but I am confident that our hard work and dedication will allow us to journey far into the 21^st Century.”
